Suggested Summer Reading
We look forward to welcoming your child to St Benedict's Catholic College in September. In the meantime, six whole weeks is spread out in front of them, which is an excellent opportunity to do some reading!
Reading is one of the most important and beneficial things for all students to help build the vital literacy skills needed to access KS3 curriculums in every subject. As well as this, research suggests that reading for 30 minutes a week increases health and wellbeing. Reading for pleasure has been found to improve confidence, self-esteem and concentration span.
Most importantly, reading is fun! Please find attached a recommended summer reading list, any of which would be suitable if your child would like to read one, or as many as they like.
