Learning Support Assistant

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team of staff that are committed to supporting our pupils with learning difficulties and disabilities. The successful candidate will need to have GCSE qualification grade C/level 5 or above, or equivalent, in English and Maths, and the ability to deal with challenging behaviour and to motivate and encourage students. Ideally, they will also have experience in supporting autistic children.

The pay band for the role is Scale 3 (point 5 to 6), which is £23,500 to £23,893.

The hours of work for the role will be 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8.55 am to 3.30 pm, with a team meeting finishing at 4.00 pm on Tuesdays) and this will be required term time, plus five staff training days (39 weeks in total).

The actual salary for the role is £15,246.17 to £15,501.13 (under 5 years' service) or £15,450.81 to £15,709.20 (over 5 years' service).

Assistant SENDCO

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a highly organised individual as the Assistant SENDCO to provide an efficient and effective SEND administrative and support service to the college by line managing the Learning Support Assistant function, undertaking administrative tasks and duties supporting the learning process. To utilise their SEN experience and have a good understanding of the impact of special educational needs such as Autism, Dyslexia and ADHD on students’ ability to access the curriculum. The successful candidate will ideally need to have a good pass in GCSE qualifications in English and Maths and it is essential that they have knowledge/experience of SEND statutes, policy and procedure in schools. The candidate will need to be a confident computer user and be able to prepare documentation with a good standard of written English.

We are a highly respected and over-subscribed Catholic college that Ofsted found to be outstanding in its commitment to the social, moral and spiritual development of all its students. Our recent section 48 inspection found the college to have many other areas of outstanding practice.

 

The pay band for the role is Scale 6 (scp 13 to 17), which is £26,873 to £28,770.

The hours of work for the role will be between 25 to 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday and this will be required term time, plus five staff training days (39 weeks in total). Working hours to be agreed at interview.

The actual salary for the role (inclusive of holiday pay) is £15,566.50 to £19,998.43 25 to 30 hours per week (under 5 years’ service) or £15,775.44 to £20,266.86 25 to 30 hours per week (over 5 years’ service).
