French

French is taught in two ability classes using the Métro 4 textbook. Students taking Foundation Level (Grades C-G) use the Métro 4 Vert textbook and students taking Higher Level (Grades A* - G) use the Métro 4 Rouge textbook.

A workbook which accompanies the course is available for purchase from the college at the beginning of the course and is important to enable students to reinforce their learning in lessons and revise for assessments. We would also strongly recommend that every student has their own dictionary (recommended: Collins French Dictionary Express Edition in colour ISBN: 0-00-720889-8).

Revision classes:
Revision classes are available to our Year 11 students at lunchtimes as the exams approach.

Foreign Language Assistants:
The MFL department has a French Foreign Language Assistant every year. GCSE students will have regular practice with the assistant to help in preparation for their GCSE speaking exam.
