Learning Support Assistant -

Fixed Term to 31st August 2020 

We are looking to appoint enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join our team of staff that are committed to supporting our pupils with learning difficulties and disabilities. The successful candidates will need to have GCSE qualification grade C/level 5 or above, or equivalent, in English and maths, and ability to deal with challenging behaviour and to motivate and encourage students.

The pay band for the role is band 2 to mid-point (scp 11 to 14), which is£17,007 - £17,681.

The hours of work for the role will be 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday and this will be required term time, plus five staff training days (39 weeks in total).

The actual salary for the role is £10,934.95 to £11,368.31 (under 5 years’ service)or £11,132.42 to £11,573.60 (over 5 years’ service).

Exam Invigilators/Readers/Scribes -

We are looking to appoint exam invigilators/readers/scribes on an ad-hoc basis, to join our team, who support our examination processes. We are looking for individuals who:

  • are available to work in December, May and June during exam times
  • are able to work individually and as part of a team
  • have good interpersonal skills
  • are able to follow all instructions including those set by the Exam Board
  • in particular the Reader/Scribe role requires a good level of literacy skills and legible handwriting

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, term time only, on an as and when needed basis.

The pay band for the role is band 3 (scp 17), which is£9.68 per hour.

TEACHER OF SCIENCE: ASPIRING LEADER -

This is an exciting new role created to support teachers progress their career. Working closely with the Head of Science, the Aspiring Leader programme will include opportunities to:
• Deepen your understanding of leadership and develop your personal leadership skills and styles
• Learn how to lead a science department; creating a culture that supports outstanding learning and progress
• Develop strategies to engage students and to help them reach their potential

While the post will be permanent, the Aspiring Head of Science programme is for a fixed term of 2 years, attracting an allowance of up to £2550 per annum. Cover Supervisor (Casual) -

 

We are looking to appoint Cover Supervisors to provide cover for teaching staff who are on short term absence, working on a casual, as and when needed basis. We are looking for individuals who:

  • are able to work individually and as part of a team
  • are able to supervise work that has been set in accordance with college policy.
  • Are able to manage the behaviour of students whilst they are undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment.
  • Can deal effectively with any questions from students about process and procedure.
  • Are able to deal effectively with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the college's policies and procedures.
