Year 7.
Students introduced to modern materials and machining skills, creating structures designing and making kites in conjunction with ‘Lets Go!’ encouraging low cost activities for teenagers.
Year 8.
Cross curricular learning encouraged with this cushion panel project that is inspired by artists work, developing hand embroidery skills and other methods of joining, layering and colouring fabrics.
Year 9.
Design and make a bag for a particular purpose. Students are encouraged to consider recycling and sustainabilty issues along with industrial processes.
Year 10 and 11.
Students follow the AQA new specification for Textile technology continuing to develop and extend their hand/ machining skills, construction details leading up to a 60% coursework project with 40% final exam.
