Design Technology

At St. Benedict's College, we aim as a department to inspire and educate students in the principals of design development and be the best they can be. We follow the new National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 and follow GCSE exam specifications at Key Stage 4.

Year 7 and 8 study 4 areas 9 weeks each including Resistant Materials, Systems and Control, Textiles and Food technology. In Year 9 students are able to specialise in two areas from Resistant Materials, Product Design, Textiles, Food and study them for half a year each.

In Year 10 and 11 students study 1 Technology GCSE option either Resistant Materials, Product Design, Textiles , Food or Catering.
