Ranger Outpost
This software enables a secure connection to our Curriculum network using the industry standard RSA 1024 bit public/private keys.
Basic installation instructions
When you click on the link you need to take the option of saving the download. Once the software has been downloaded it will be shown as a file called Setup Outpost Client - St Benedicts College.exe
Double click on the file and follow the on screen installation guide, accept the agreement and continue the installation, you will need to fully complete this installation of the programme on to your computer for you to be able to access this secure connection.
Once the software is installed, only then will you be able to logon to the school server. To do this click on the Ranger Outpost icon on the desktop, this should of been created during the install process . Use the same username and password as you would if you were in school logging in. Note: Passwords are case sensitive.
Connection Problems
Should the Ranger Outpost client fail to connect to our server you should check the following
- Is the computer connected to the Internet
- Have you configured any firewall, your computer is using correctly to allow communications on port 6541?
- Due to the number and complexity of available home firewall solutions the IT technical support team cannot offer assistance in configuring communication ports, please refer to your ISP Help desk.
